For this assignment, the student had to design a parking lot for a pre-existing hotel and cafe located along an oceanside bluff. The student had to design a 10,000 SF terrace along with the parking lot, while abiding to several constraints the site entailed. The project allowed the student to design freely, being able to place the hotel and cafe anywhere on the site, however it restricted the design ability by giving certain setbacks along the bluff and main road. The design needed to incorporate 30 standard parking spaces with 5 ADA spaces, landscape buffers between parking, and connections from the hotel and cafe to the main road. All parking aisles were to be 25 feet wide and no construction was to be permitted within 20 feet of the bluff.
