ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN I

FORM & FUNCTION

The idea behind this project is to use everyday daily items and see how they operate in order to use them as a base to create a movable bridge. Using ordinary household items allows you to look more closely at these certain items and use their simple function on something more large and vast like a bridge.

The requirements behind this project is to create a moveable bridge that spans 190 feet, with an opening for a 40 ft High by 30 ft Wide boating vessel. The operational movement of the household item is transformed and transitioned into the bridge, being the operational function is obvious, while trying to still keep the original structure.
